What Is the PMP Renewal Fees?

Your PMP Certification is valid for three years. After that, it needs renewal to maintain its credibility. For that, you have to earn your PDUs and also pay the renewal fees.

The PMP Certification Renewal Cost:

  • $60 for those with membership.
  • $150 for non-members.

This means if you have an active PMI membership subscription, you have to pay much less to renew your PMP certificate.

You need to pay your PMP renewal fees within your PDU cycle, which is 3 years or within 90 90-day grace period after the cycle ends.

How To Get Your PMP Certification in 5 Steps?

Getting your Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification can boost your career in project management. Follow these five steps to get your certificate in the PMP course:

Step 1: Meet The PMP Certification Requirements

Before applying, confirm that you fulfill the education, training, and experience requirements.

Step 2: Apply For PMP Certification

  • Create an Account: Register on the Project Management Institute (PMI) website.
  • Fill Application Details: Share your academic background, project management experience, and training you have taken.
  • Wait for Approval: This will typically take 5-10 days.

You may get selected randomly for an eligibility audit. If so, you need to submit:

  • Photocopy of your degree certificate.
  • Experience certificate signed by the supervisor
  • Training certificate.

Once your application is approved, you will get an email update to pay the exam fee and schedule your test.

Step 3: Prepare For the PMP Exam

Start by familiarizing yourself with the PMP exam syllabus and subjects. Then, buy PMP books and take an online course to ease your preparation.

Study every day for atleast 4-5 hours and complete at least 3-5 mock tests before your actual exam. One such prep resource by PMI is the PMP exam simulator, which has 175+ questions.

While preparing, try to avoid burnout by taking breaks. Rested minds retain information better.

Step 4: Schedule and Take the PMP Exam

You can appear for PMP exams online or in a testing center. Also, the exam is held year-round. So, you can choose any date and time that works for you. The exam fee is ₹23,288 for members and ₹47,150 for others. This fee is to be paid only after your application is accepted and you are scheduling your exams.

The PMP exam format is as follows:

  • 180 questions
  • Two breaks of 10 minutes each
  • 16 language options.
  • 230 minutes to complete your exams.
  • Multiple choice questions, fill-ups, etc.

Step 5: Maintain Your PMP Certification

The validity period is only three years. So, to maintain your project management professional certification, you need to earn 60 PDUs within each three-year cycle. Each PDU you earn shows:

  • What you learned
  • What you teach others
  • How do you present insights at conferences
  • How well do you read and participate in book clubs
  • Your content creation skills

This way, you can reflect on your skills and learn new things within the profession.

If you don’t maintain it, you will have to reappear for the exam; the fee is $405 for members. Meanwhile, for non-members, it's $555.

PMI Membership Status CCR Renewal Fee

To maintain your PMI membership status, you must comply with CCR, i.e. Continuing Certification Requirements.

Process

  • Log in to your dashboard on the PMI website.
  • Pay the PMP renewal fee through the provided payment options.

PMP Certification Cancellation

Want to cancel your PMP certificate? All you need to do is to contact the institute at customercare@pmi.org.
